Pumpkin spice and all that's nice!

Happy Halloween (and I welcome myself back to blogspot after 5 months off - life has been busier and crazier than ever!).

Some quick updates:
  • Gavin is now 7.5 months old and is crazy!!  He's happy, playing with everything, crawling, pulling himself up to standing position, climbing the stairs, climbing step ladders, and laughing and smiling all the time!!!  He weighs about 19 pounds and is finally out of the Pack-n-Play and in his wonderful big boy crib.  He takes 2 - 3 naps a day and sleeps from 7:30pm (8ish) until about 7:30 am with one wake-up for feeding typically (sometimes more - these nights make me a very sleepy teacher!).  He is incredibly strong and seems to be quite focused . . . . he learns very quickly!
  • We are finally home!  Yes, we're in the new house and it's amazing!  There are still a few odds-and-ends things to complete, but it's coming together better than we ever expected.  Once the shed gets built, we will move our "garage" out of the den/guest bedroom!  Then we will be completely set - visitors welcome anytime!!  Pictures to come soon!
  • As of July 31st we are officially the Cartwright's!!! Thanks to our 60 family members and very close friends that joined us for our intimate christening and wedding ceremonies.  The setting was amazing, the celebration was a blast (darn it that music was good!!!), and the company was irreplaceable.  Thanks for the great memories as we all romped around and experienced Washington together!  We're so glad you all could stay for extended visits and experience our neck-of-the-woods!!!  Pictures wll be posted soon!
Here's our little boy enjoying his first visit to the pumpkin farm!  Hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween!!

Love,

Dre

  1. The pictures are absolutely precious Dre! It looks like you had a great time with your mom. I'm so sad to be missing all of these firsts for Gavin but the pictures help. I can really get a glimpse at his personality, as well as the enjoyment you and Joe are experiencing through parenthood. Thanks for sharing them!

We're are going to have to play some serious catch up on memory-making when Nick and I get home.

    Miss you,

    Ty
